EMERGE: Stygian Level One
This certification provides the dancer with a beginning foundation in fusion belly dance techniques.

This certification teaches intermediate-level fusion belly dance techniques, including layering, complex combinations, and choreography creation.

EVOLVE: Stygian Level Three
For those ready to make their dance their own, EVOLVE expands on fusion technique, delves into advanced theory, and tackles the skills needed to become a dance professional.
Completion of ENGAGE is required to begin EVOLVE.

What level do I start with?
Our certifications stack from Level One to Level Three. You must complete one level before moving to the next.
One exception: Dancers with more than two years of belly dance experience are welcome to test out of Level One by submitting movement and performance demonstrations.
What are the assignments like?
Within your certification course, you will find "Checkpoints," or assignments. Each will have a description of what you need to submit to Daewen for review and feedback! Assignments vary from demonstrating movements, to creating combinations, and to performing choreography!
How do I get started?
Using the links above, purchase your Certification Level. This will give you access to the level's content. You will receive an email to set up your account, and then you can log in at any time, from anywhere, at portal.stygian.dance/home. Here you can visit your courses via the "Take A Course" tab on the left, or under the dots on the upper right.
Within the course, there are instructions for all steps in the certification process. If at any time you have questions, Daewen is available by email at [email protected]!

What one-on-one support will I receive?
Right away you may book a virtual Strategy Call with Daewen to make a plan to meet your certification goals! Then, each month you are able to schedule another brief call to receive feedback, troubleshoot struggle areas, or tweak your plan. It's all about you!
Additionally, with each assignment you submit you will receive detailed, written feedback from Daewen to support your dance growth.
Plus, private lessons to go over more detailed needs will be offered at 50% off!
Do I need to dance a certain style to get certified?
Not really! ALL dancers are welcome. Our Stygian style is a fusion of styles and movements learned or created by Daewen, and these can apply across dancers and their goals.
We mostly dance to metal or dark music, but you don't have to! Just don't judge what we play with in our lessons ;)
Do you offer payment plans?
YES! We believe customized instruction and certification should be affordable and accessible.
