Metal AF Fusion
Venture into the darkness with Daewen! In this workshop, we will blend fusion movements with metal and dark music to showcase Daewen's signature style, Metal Fusion! Students will learn several combinations created with specific bands or genres in mind. Expect unique technique, drills, and layers, alongside a healthy serving of attitude, emotion, and a powerful surge of confidence!
Metal in Motion: A Musicality Workshop
Deepen your musicality skills to the heavy-hitting sounds of metal! Channel your attitude into the guitar, drums, and screams with killer techniques to break the mold (and maybe some faces)!
Evoking the Darkness
Many say dance is like telling a story. What if your story is horror, or mystery, or dark fiction? Learn to call on darker emotions like sadness, pain, fear, or even hatred, and make your audience FEEL your story on a deeper level. In this workshop, Daewen will guide you through various exercises and share some unique fusion combos to tap into your darkness and deepen your dance.
Moving with the Elements
Delve into dance inspired by the four elements. Learn to flow like water, float like air, ground yourself like earth, and explode on the stage like fire! Experience creative exercises built into fusion combinations to add some magic to your dance.
Deadly Drills
Get your thrill of fast-paced drills with Daewen! Using Daewen’s Fusion Focus drill cards, we’ll go over an assortment of basic movements, their variations, and quickie combos to hone your technique! Get ready to sweat!
Cathartic Dance: A Release Through Movement
In this workshop, Daewen will take you through her cathartic dance method to move through pain, loss, frustration, or any negative emotion that needs release. ALL styles are welcome! Bring a notebook and an open mind!
Stygian Slink - A Workshop for Silky & Smoldering Flow
Work your slinky, ooey-gooey flow with some Stygian style combos that will challenge you to ooze out every second of your dance! Slow doesn't mean boring, it means time to smolder and leave your audience wondering what's next! Fusion dance experience recommended for this multi-level workshop, with extra challenges for more advanced dancers!
Intro to Runic Dance
Runic Dance is inspired by the Elder Futhark runes, adding Daewen's passion for fusion dance to creative movement for invocation of the runic powers. This workshop teaches 3 combinations each inspired by an Elder Futhark rune's shape, meaning, and association with the intention of invoking its power. These combinations are then built into a section of Daewen's choreography to Heilung's "Asja."
Strength Through Runic Dance
Inspired by the Elder Futhark, you will learn 3 runes' associations, then move through fusion dance combinations invoking those runes. We will invoke inner strength (Mannaz), confidence (Tiwaz), and your unique power (Uruz)!
Harmony Through Runic Dance
Inspired by the Elder Futhark, you will learn 3 runes' associations, then move through fusion dance combinations invoking those runes. We will invoke gratitude (Gebo), centering (Sowilo), joy (Wunjo), and your unique power!
Inspiration Through Runic Dance
Inspired by the Elder Futhark, you will learn 3 runes' associations, then move through fusion dance combinations invoking those runes. We will invoke creativity (Kenaz), progress (Ehwaz), potential (Ingwaz), and your unique power!
Elemental Runic Dance
Inspired by the Elder Futhark, Daewen’s Runic Dance uses fusion dance and creative movement based on the runes’ magickal associations to invoke their unique powers within us. In this workshop, you will learn four Runic Combinations with deep connections to the elements of water, air, earth, and fire to add a spark of magick to your dance!
